GaiaOne is the manifestation of a deeply rooted love for nature, balance and conscious wellbeing. We are a social enterprise focused on making sustainable living more accessible to all through eco-tourism and conservation in Indonesia and Malaysia, with home bases in Bira, Indonesia and Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
The dream began with the creation of our flagship eco-resort, Tevana House Reef. We aim to provide wanderers a safe space to relax, self-reflect and connect with nature while meeting other likeminded travelers. Whether on vacation or while working abroad, we seek to create immersive experiences with the local community and nature in a eco-conscious way. Through these experiences, we fund our nature restoration programs, including trash collection, coral conservation, and seagrass restoration in our mission of preserving the blessings naturally given to us by Mother Nature.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
GaiaOne was founded in 2020 by Noortasha Devi Paramaswaran, affectionately known as Nori with the opening of Tevana House Reef. Ocean lover and beach addict, Nori grew up by the coast in Kota Kinabalu. Driven by her love for the oceans and scuba diving, she decided to give up her life as a practicing lawyer in Malaysia and found herself in South Sulawesi, Indonesia to built the first sustainable resort in Tanjung Bira.
It was always in the vision to add a conservation element to Tevana House Reef which became a reality in 2020 with the founding of the Gaia One Restoration Project. What started out as a simple beach cleanup project soon turned into a complete social enterprise focused on Earth restoration. GaiaOne now is comprised of an eco-conscious dive centre in Indonesia, a coral restoration project in Bira and Kota Kinabalu, and an eco-travel program that emphasizes the immersion into the 5 Elements of Nature.
It is Noortasha’s hope that anyone who comes to Bira or Kota Kinabalu experiences the Gaia One lifestyle and becomes inspired to care and love the Planet more deeply. After all it is in Nature that we are all connected as One.

Our society’s economic systems are based on a never-ending growth model that directly contradicts our planet’s limited resources. This is why we clean up trash, plant corals, refuse single-use plastic, provide compostable toiletries, recycle water and have educational programs for our local communities.
FOCUS ON ACCESSIBILITY
The “green tax” that creates a financial barrier for sustainable products and experiences is counterproductive for our restoration movement! That is why we aim to provide accommodations for every budget to reduce the financial burden of living as a one with nature. From luxury suites to dorms, we ensure anyone interested in embracing the GaiaOne experience has access.

Our meditation shallah, energy roof top under the stars, and many other open spaces are specifically designed to encourage self-reflexion, mindfulness, yoga, meditation and detachment from anything that doesn’t serve you.
HIGHLIGHT LOCAL TALENT
We value people and nature above all else. Each of our locations is a platform for local vendors to share their creativity and wisdom through small concerts with local artists, farmers markets, clothing swaps and many other community events throughout the year.

We are what we eat. So what better way to connect back to nature than to eat fresh and nutritious produce from local markets and our own garden? Ah did we mention our restaurant serves mostly vegan/vegetarian food?
